When I first started blogging I thought I would just put in 4 hours and be making six figures. While that would be nice that’s not what blogging is. Blogging is not for the weak of heart. It takes guts and determination to push through on this journey. With that being said, once I realized it was going to take up a lot more of my time than I originally planned I noticed a slack in my time management. I started to see hours slip away that I was getting NOTHING done. So I decided I would tell you how I started to manage my time better.
Unlike a lot of moms out there, I don’t wake up super early I sleep until my kids wake up because I personally function better if I get more sleep. Now when my kids wake up I give them some yogurt and drink my coffee and I catch up on my emails and social media while they eat and watch cartoons. After I drink my coffee and kids eat their breakfast I rinse our dishes. I then put away my phone and we play for about an hour to an hour and a half before I start lunch. While we are eating I brain storm ideas for my future post, and jot them down in my phone. After lunch, I rinse the dishes once more and give the kids a bath (on most days)! They immediately go down for a nap. During nap time I write my post and binge on social media. When they wake up I sit them in front of a cartoon for about an hour and do some house chores like laundry and dishes and start dinner. While dinner is cooking we pick up their toys in the living room before daddy comes home. It never stays clean until he gets home but at least it’s better. When daddy gets home we eat dinner then he plays with the kids and I spend an hour replying to comments and planning the post to social media for the next day. Then I hop in the shower for a 5 min rinse off. Then normally we watch a movie while we are putting the kids to sleep and so we can cuddle on the couch. Then it’s time to go to bed and do it again the next day. While it might be hectic I have found it is the best way for me to be an active mom in my kid’s lives, run my business, be a wife, and keep my house clean.
