I’ve been blogging for about a year and a half. And I can’t count how many times I have been told to get a real job in that year and a half. It makes me want to yell at the top of mountains that I HAVE 2 VERY REAL JOBS!
First and ABOVE ALL, I am a MOM. I cook and clean, I give baths, and rock two children to sleep 2 times a day. I comfort when they are sad, I read the same 3 picture books 100 times a day. I keep my kids happy and healthy. I make sure all of our bills are paid, and their teeth are brushed along with their hair. And I make sure we have enough grocery’s to have enough to eat. I stop 10,000 temper tantrums a day. I have piles of laundry to run through my washer and dryer, which is constantly running. Also, I clean up poop and vomit in the middle of the night without batting an eye. And that doesn’t even scratch the surface of my job that’s not 9-5. I am a mom 24/7, I don’t get paid holidays or benefits.
But I LOVE being a mommy. I LOVE all the sweet tired cuddles and the random kisses, or when my kid looks at me smiles, Those are my “benefits”.
I’m also a blogger. I run my own website and find companies to pay me to advertise their product to my readers. Yes, I do get paid money. And I also work really hard on affiliate linking. Being a Blogger has been an eye awaking experience for me. The blogging community is amazing, and I love all of my peers who have supported me on my blogging journey, Who have put up with my 1000 questions, and giving me tough love but have still supported me!
Here are some blogger friends:
I am not saying that being a parent and working outside of your home is terrible, or wrong, or not a job. But please stop downgrading what I do as a stay at home mom is not “enough” or “smart”. I love my REAL job!
